Introduction to the toilet replacement project

Shut off the water supply and disconnect the supply line from the tank

Remove the caps and nuts from the base bolts and cut around the toilet base

Lift the old toilet off the flange and set it aside

Clean off the old wax ring and flange using a putty knife or shop towels

Insert new brass toilet bolts into the flange aligned with the holes

Place a new wax ring on top of the flange and apply pressure carefully

Lower the toilet bowl onto the wax ring, align the base holes with the bolts, and apply even pressure for a tight seal

Add washers and nuts to the bolts, tighten evenly, and trim excess bolt length with a hacksaw

Install the toilet tank onto the bowl, secure the bolts, and attach the new seat

Reconnect the water supply line, turn on the shut-off valve, and fill the tank

Apply silicone around the base to seal the toilet and test flush multiple times
